Why the sudden interest?
They love what you’ve done with the place!
In particular, they love the functional yet brightly colored glowing birdbath that you put in the yard specifically for their use.
And the best part?
The longer you have it, the more birds will show up in your yard year after year.
I know this from personal experience. Remember, I personally yard tested this birdbath for 15 hours.
There wasn’t much interest during the first few hours because the birds didn’t know about it. But after a short while, birds of all types began using the fountain to bathe, drink, and ultimately be merry!
After my test, I decided to choose the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath as the one that provided the Best Value.

Our Analysis, Comparisons & Test Results
Next, I’d like to focus on digging into the meat and potatoes of this review.
That’s right…
We’ll look closer at my analysis and how this solar birdbath stacks up against the seven other birdbaths that I tested.
And when all is said and done, I’ll go over my test results in greater detail and tell you why I rated this product the way I did for each category.
And speaking of categories, they are:
- Power Output
- Design
- Ease of Cleaning
- Ease of Assembly
- Aesthetics
- Material
Coming up, you’ll get a glimpse of my thought process and more.
I am going to dive deeply into each one of these categories in real time and share the gory details with you below.
I didn’t just pick eight birdbaths to review out of nowhere. I sorted through dozens of products before I narrowed my search down to these elite eight.
I’ll share my rating, my comparison charts, and much more in this review.
Stick around to find out the specific deets.
Power Output
For power output, I ranked the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath in 5th place out of eight potential spots.
I know that seems really negative, but it isn’t that bad.
In fact, if you look at the product rating table below, you’ll see that fifth-place is a 93 out of 100 rating for power output.
Overall, the power output is more than acceptable for this solar birdbath.
In fact, as long as you keep the birdbath in direct sunlight for eight hours a day, you’ll see a beautiful glowing light at night for about 6 to 8 hours, depending on how charged up it is before the sun goes down.
I don’t know about you, but I feel 6-8 hours is a long time for the glowing light feature to last.
Even better, you can control the light feature with the on/off switch.
If for some reason you’d rather keep it off one night, just flip the switch to the off position and the energy-saving glowing light will remain off until you turn it back on again.
Lastly, the light automatically shuts off in bright places. So, if you turn on an outdoor light in the vicinity at night, the birdbath light will automatically shut off since it technically won’t be needed.
How the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath with Metal Stand stacks up in the power output ratings:
Design
As far as the design is concerned, the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath is 1st place. I gave it a 97 out of 100 score because I personally love the overall design of this product.
First of all, I truly appreciate the shape of the glass birdbath bowl.
Why?
It’s 18 inches in diameter and perfectly round. But it’s also deep enough that there’s ample room to add plenty of water for the birds to enjoy as they clean themselves.
In the middle of the bowl, it physically bubbles up in the area of the solar panel. I personally like the way that it sticks out. It reminds me of the center of a flower, with a beautiful pink color that really stands out.
The metal stand was also expertly designed. And it folds and unfolds for easy storage when it isn’t in use.
If you look at the pedestal, you’ll see that it was created in a way for maximum stability.
This means you don’t have to worry about the birdbath immediately tipping over after one of your children accidentally bumps into it while playing in the backyard.
They also added suckers to the tips of the metal stand. The suction cups connect directly to the glass bowl for added strength and stability.
Keep in mind…
This is a glass birdbath. It wasn’t designed to withstand freezing cold temperatures. Please bring it inside to preserve it during the winter.
Overall, I love the design because it’s attractive, stable, yet perfectly functional. That’s why I ranked it so highly on the list for this category.
How the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath stacks up in the design ratings:
Ease of Cleaning
Even though I’ve placed this solar birdbath in 3rd place for the category Ease of Cleaning, it’s actually very easy to clean nonetheless.
The total score is 84 out of 100, which is perfectly acceptable and above average when you think about it.
But I did lower the score nonetheless when compared to the other birdbaths that I reviewed.
Why?
Two reasons.
First, the solar panel needs to be cleaned in order to work properly.
Although it isn’t too difficult, owners of this product need to remove the solar panel from the center of the glass bowl. After it’s removed, you can clean it out thoroughly using soap and water to remove algae and grime.
It’s not a big deal, but it’s an extra step that you’ll need to take to keep the solar panel clean and functioning properly.
Second, I shaved off a point because the product is made of two very different types of material.
Although not completely necessary, you may want to purchase metal cleaner to clean the stand and glass cleaner to clean the bowl. This requires extra money and additional work to keep this product expertly cleaned.
Remember, the glass cleaner or metal cleaner isn’t required. You can clean the birdbath using soap and water and still give it a beautiful shine.
On the other hand:
I like that the glass bowl detaches from the metal stand. This makes it very easy to clean both pieces. You can wipe them down thoroughly and quickly without much difficulty.
How the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath stacks up in the ease of cleaning ratings:
Ease of Assembly
I rated the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath a 90 out of 100. And the product is currently part of a four-way tie for 2nd place.
Honestly, this is an excellent position to be in. And it means assembling this solar birdbath is one of the easiest things in the world to accomplish.
How so?
Basically, this birdbath comes in two parts.
There is a glass bowl and the metal stand.
That’s it!
On the metal stand, you’ll see four suction cups at the end of the four points at the top of the stand.
Simply place the suckers on the glass bowl and make sure they are secure.
That’s all there is to it. There is no other assembly required.
I knocked off a point because you will have to remove the solar panel to clean it. Although this isn’t something that needs to be assembled out of the box, it’s necessary nonetheless and it will need to be removed and reassembled whenever the panel needs to be cleaned.
How the Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath stacks up in the ease of assembly ratings:
Aesthetics
This birdbath is a big winner as far as aesthetics are concerned. Here it comes in at 1st place. And I scored it 98 out of 100 because I love the artistic appeal so much.
When you stand over the bowl and look at the design, it consists of three hummingbirds sucking the nectar out of three flowers. Or maybe they are pollinating the flowers.
Regardless, it’s an incredibly attractive design that many will find incredibly pleasing.
The colors are gorgeous and really stand out. There are pinks, various shades of green, various shades of blue, and other colors mixed in for good measure.
The glass bowl itself is very attractive even if the beautiful decorations weren’t added for extra flavor. And the stainless-steel stand was also designed in a way that looks quite attractive.

Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath FAQs
Where Should I Place The Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath For Maximum Effectiveness?
To get the most out of the solar panel, you must place the glass solar birdbath in an area in your backyard that receives maximum exposure to the sun.
Why is this important?
Without maximum sun exposure, you may not fully charge the device.
And when the sun goes down, you’ll have little to no solar power available to turn on the beautifully glowing light.
On the other hand, if you don’t care about the solar light then you can place the birdbath wherever you see fit. But if you want it to glow at night, make sure the birdbath receives maximum exposure to the sun for eight hours per day.
Can I Use The Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath All Year Round?
Technically, you can use it all year round but it isn’t recommended.
Why shouldn’t I use it during all four seasons?
During the cold winter months, the water can freeze in the glass bowl and shatter the entire thing. Obviously, you’d benefit by draining it out and bringing the entire birdbath inside during the winter to prevent freezing, shattering, and cracking.
On the other hand:
The solar panel and plastic mechanism that it’s inside can also freeze and crack during the ice-cold months of the frosty winter.
Avoid these situations altogether. Drain the bowl, disconnect it from the metal stand, fold it up, and tuck it away in your garage until the weather warms up again.
Can I Use The Outdoor Glass Solar Birdbath As A Bird Feeder?
Absolutely!
You can certainly use this birdbath as a bird feeder if that’s what you desire.
But remember…
You can’t fill it with water and birdseed at the same time. The water would ruin the birdseed and the birdseed would dirty the water. This would ruin the bath and make the water yucky.
If you’re going to use it as a bird feeder, please keep in mind that it will likely attract cats, dogs, raccoons, squirrels, and other ground dwelling animals.
Honestly, although it technically works as a bird feeder, you’re much better off buying a feeder specifically designed to provide food for these beautiful winged creatures.
